PlatSil® 73-15 Silicone Rubber is a two-part, platinum-catalyzed, liquid silicone system that cures (RTV) to a white translucent, Shore A15 rubber.

The transparent nature of the cured rubber makes it a good option for moulds that need to be cut after cured – because the model is visible, parting lines can be better determined. It is also very useful when casting intricate parts to ensure that the entire mold cavity has been filled with casting material. This is a pourable rubber, but it can be easily thickened with a thickener or Fumed Silica for brush-on application.

    Product details

    Technical Data

PlatSil® Gels are 1A:1B (by weight or volume) platinum-cured silicone systems that can be used as mould rubbers, to create prosthetic appliances, and for life casting.
PlatSil® Gel Silicone Rubbers are the industry standard in special effects and medical modeling industries for creating life-like prosthetic appliances and models. They are used widely to make theatrical prosthetic appliances for film, television, and theater, and realistic medical training aids for practices including emergency medical services, cardiology, obstetrics, gynecology, trauma, urology and more.
PlatSil® Gels are also used for life casting, prop making and general silicone mold making. Smith’s Theatrical Prosthetic Deadener and PlatSil® Deadener LV can be added to soften and eliminate the snappy, synthetic look and feel of ordinary silicone rubbers. “Deadened” PlatSil Gels can be made to look, feel and move like living tissue. Unlike silicone fluid, Deadener does not leach from the cured rubber/appliance, so bonding and use are far easier. PlatSil Gel-OO30 & PlatSil Gel-OO20 are lower in viscosity and are less tacky on cure compared to PlatSil Gel-OO.
