Applications:
O.B.B. Sand ‘DM’ is primarily used in the light metal sector and in art casting for thin-walled parts.
Processing instructions:
When applying the sand to the pattern, the first layer should always be sieved and lightly pressed down. The moulding box can then be filled with unsieved moulding sand and firmly compacted. Do not add water or use any coatings.
Special features:
O.B.B. sand can be used both as build-up sand and as circulating sand. When used as build-up sand, it enters the normal moulding sand cycle. When used as circulating sand (standard sand), it can be regenerated with O.B.B. oil and O.B.B. paste.
Moulding sand can therefore be reused repeatedly until the effectiveness of the binder is reduced. Reasons for this may include: ageing (over many years), separation of the oil due to thermal stress, or mixing with talcum powder (separating agent).
