Gold and silver leaf - standard colours

Loose gold and silver sheets can be applied using the oil or water gilding technique. It is especially suitable for restoration and for use on carved surfaces, like inlays in wood, plaster and stucco, where the leaf is applied using a squirrel hair gilder’s tip.

Transfer leaf is laid on tissue paper, which facilitates handling and speeds up the gilding of flat surfaces. Leaves are simply pressed on the tissue paper without the use of any glue.

Transfer gold leaf is always recommended for use in outdoor gilding. Genuine gold transfer leaf is ideal for gilding on smooth, flat or rounded/curved surfaces, like works of art, domes, modern architectural structures, monuments, lettering and interior design.

Transfer silver leaf: Application using the oil technique is recommended at all times.
