Technical Data

Uses:

In its raw form, stearin is used to make stearin candles.

These candles burn longer than paraffin candles, which are made from petroleum. Stearin candles are firmer and have better burning properties than paraffin candles. This is why many composite candles are also available on the market; these consist of a mixture of paraffin and stearin.

Furthermore, stearin is used in the production of soap and is applied in lubricants and stiffeners in the textile industry.
