Bone glue - 25kg

Ref. A00070

Bone glue (also called hot glue or cooking glue) is a glue made from bones. Bone glue is traded in grains that are dissolved in warm water. Around 45 degrees the glue is thinly liquid and processable. The glue hardens quickly on cooling. Sometimes the bone glue is heated undiluted in a bain-marie. At 100 degrees, the bone glue is thin and easy to process and the "au bain-marie" heating prevents a higher temperature at which the glue starts to burn.

Bone glue is used for, among other things, the construction and repair of musical instruments such as violin, piano and church organ and for the restoration of antique furniture.

Adhesive power: 150 bloom.
